Description: This teacher's guide is an excellent resource for teaching bioethics to high school biology students. An introductory section lays out strategies for teaching ethical decision making. Through case studies in genetic screening, genetic therapy, AIDs, animal experimentation, and environmental science, students are introduced to the processes of ethical decision making and conflict resolution. Teaching suggestions for presenting cases and managing discussions and small group activities are excellent. Developed by the Hastings Center, a non-profit research institute devoted to studying ethical issues.
Strengths: Excellent teacher support. Reproduction of up to 100 copies for classroom use is allowed.
